3 Questions To Ask Your Dentist

At Cosmetic Dentistry Associates, we encourage our patients to schedule routine preventative care appointments at least twice a year. This allows us to keep an eye on your dental health and ensure that minor issues are addressed before developing into major dental concerns.

Patients should feel empowered to have open and honest conversations with their dental care team during these appointments. Consider asking the following questions during your upcoming dental appointment:

How can I improve my oral hygiene?

During your routine preventative care appointments, one of our skilled hygienists will perform a thorough dental cleaning of your teeth and gums. During the dental cleaning, any plaque or tartar buildup surrounding your gum line will be removed to prevent the progression of serious dental concerns like gum disease and tooth decay.

Based on where you have the most buildup, your hygienist will be able to tell which areas of your mouth are being skipped over during your at-home oral hygiene routines.

Ask your hygienist to point out these areas to you so that you will know where to spend a little extra time when you brush and floss. This will allow you to see improvements to your overall dental health in time for your next preventative care appointment.

What are the treatment options for my dental concerns?

Following your dental cleaning, one of our talented dentists will come in to examine the current condition of your teeth, gums, and jawbone. During the exam, make sure to voice any dental concerns that you’ve experienced outside of the dentist’s office. Symptoms like toothaches, frequent bad breath, increased gum sensitivity, jaw pain, or tension headaches should be reported to your dentist.

They will take all of this into consideration when offering you a treatment plan that best meets your needs. If you have any questions about what to expect with your treatment plan, feel free to ask your dentist for more information. They are here to help you!

Do you have any cosmetic dentistry recommendations?

Following your dental exam, consider asking your dentist for their cosmetic dentistry recommendations. If you are unhappy about the way your smile looks, this can affect your motivation to keep track of your dental health. We are happy to provide cosmetic dentistry services in our Rockland County, NY dentist office.

Our office offers a wide range of cosmetic services including Invisalign, porcelain veneers, teeth whitening, and tooth bonding. A combination of these services can be used to help patients achieve a complete smile makeover.
